TRACEY ATKINSON
Artwork created by the artist and art educator
Tracey Atkinson grew up in North Carolina before moving on to adventures in
the South of England, New York City, Chicago, Philadelphia,
and the San Francisco Bay Area.
She received her BFA in Communication Design from Pratt Institute,
where she earned the Certificate of Excellence Award for Outstanding Merit in Illustration.
The artist-educator received her MA in Art and Art Education from
Teachers College, Columbia University.
She has taught Visual Art, both Traditional and Digital, in New York City, Philadelphia, Oakland,
and Silicon Valley.
Always trying to engage and communicate with the viewer, Tracey gracefully combines darkness with humor, the merging of which renders her work vibrant, fun, and fresh.
Her illustrations in particular, capture the eye with their mix of sophistication, irreverence,
and originality. Her mastery over ink allows her to achieve the perfection of the gesture
she wants to describe, creating elegant images.
She has exhibited her work in solo shows at Contaminate NYC:
CONTAMINATE INTERVIEW on YOUTUBE
